Intermediate Electrical Unico/Lenze VFD


 

Overview:

Fosber America's Training Department is offering a two day session on Unico (Master 400 and Evolution knives) and Lenze 9300 family Variable Frequency Drives. This course is designed for employees with electrical knowledge and experience. This course is a continuation of our Basic Electrical School.

This course is designed to give the experienced electrical technician skills that would allow them to perform troubleshooting tasks using the HIM on the drive or interfacing the drive with a computer.

Students will become familiar with the components of the drive, how they interact with the machine and how to troubleshoot the drive system.

Students will become familiar with how to use the electrical schematics to assist with drive troubleshooting.

This is a second level course in a series of electrical courses to be offered by Fosber America. Future second level course topics will include PLC, Drive, Safety Controller classes (Allen Bradley, Square D, Banner).

Variable Frequency Drive Theory

-Power Components

  • Pulse Width Modulation

Safety:

  • Hazards of Electrical Energy
  • Safe Work Habits
  • NFPA 70E (Arc Flash)

-Lenze Drives

  • Positioners
  • Servos
  • Drive PLCs

-Troubleshooting

  • Reading Drive Faults

Day 2:

Unico Knive Drives

-Discuss Theory of Operations

  • Parameters
  • Board Wheel, Measure Roll
  • Cut-to-Mark
  • Communication & Input Devices
  • Troubleshooting
  • Use auto tune routines to adjust drive parameters after servicing knife drives or motors

Attendees need safety glasses, safety shoes and work clothes

to perform the procedures on the machine.

The school cost is $1,000 per person.

Prerequisite: Basic Electrical or Equivalent
(Class Size Limitation:  12)
 

Fee includes all training materials and lunch each day.

Transportation, hotel or other expenses are not included in the package.
